Health/Safety Documents/Working Practises/Rules Jan2020

Complete review of all Working practises/proceedures/Risks For Carpet Mill started 2/01/11 now jan 2020

Diary 10/01/20

Given to Eugene Jack Kieran Mark Jordan

ITS THAT TIME OF YEAR AGAIN JANUARY WHEN WE UPDATE OUR COMPANY DOCUMENTS AND PROCEEDURES TO COMPLY WITH THE LAW

Starting with HEALTH/SAFETY LAW and covering topics that are required to comply by both EMPLOYER and EMPLOYEE.

Whilst having the correct paperwork helps to comply with the law, it does not stop there, if an accident occurs its not an accident if by proper training, reviewing procedures etc. it could have been avoided.

So as to limit our liability against any prosecution, comply with our insurance and safeguard employees and public it is required that everyone EMPLOYER AND EMPLOYEE takes Health and Safety seriously.

1st STEP

I have attached a flyer( HSE SHOWING A CARPET COMPANY THAT WAS PROSECUTED FOR TEARS TO CARPET,AND BLOCKING FIRE EXIT) that gives an example, and is relevant to our business, while I can comply with the employers legal requirements as I am not there. I do not see work practises which could cause concern, or accidents waiting to happen, That is why I have attached a separate sheet of paper for each employee to NOTE ANY RISKS TO THEMSELVES OR PUBLIC AT THE WORKPLACE so that it can be discussed and practises put in place to avoid that risk. This will be collected Sat 17th Jan. In the meantime if you have found any significant risks implement risk removal or contact me if for any reason you cannot

If you have an inspection before 17th Jan I would expect that any Health and Safety obligations had been put into practise or a timetable for doing so. EXCEPT the paperwork which is being updated, and put online as time allows, so that it does not get lost, or old out of date documents do not get shown to inspectors certainly by the end of January it will be live and a password will be available.
