HOLIDAYS

Continued from training guide,if you take them all in August then leave at the end of September you will be docked the extra holidays you have been paid out of your week in hands pay

Staff get confused over Holidays lets go over it again, you have the entitlement according to the law unless agreed otherwise, Included in your holidays are 23rd 24th 25th 26th December Easter day if that is your normal working day and New Years Dayhttp://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Employees/WorkingHoursAndTimeOff/DG_10029 788  and to complicate matters this all changes 1/4/2009 http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Employment/Employees/Timeoffandholidays/DG_10034642 If you work a five day week you are at the moment entitled to 24 days holiday inc any days you take off for a Bank Holiday Example 24 days less 4 days in December 1 day in January equals 19 days left you take 2 bank holidays off equals 17 days left, you take 2 weeks in July thats another 10 days if you work a 5 day week equals 7 days left, get it?

You cannot unless agreed otherwise take the 19 days you are owed in single days ie I hate Mondays I dont like weeks holidays I get bored,so I will have the next 19 Mondays off You must take at least 1 weeks holiday at a time or a maximum of 2 weeks together it could cause problems if you book 3 weeks holiday back to back it stops other employees getting the dates they require  you can take them by agreement or if agreement cannot be reached you will be allocated them by the Company. when the new holiday entitlement comes in to force the extra holiday must be taken in slack periods ie Jan Feb

Any disagreement or querey over holidays or anything in the workplace should in first instance be verbally notified to M/D Paul Roddis if you are still not satisfied with the response you should put your disagreement or querey in writing.
